The U.S bound Jeep Wagoneer S is scheduled to reach dealerships this Fall

by AatoMobil

The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S is the brand’s first all-electric SUV in the U.S market. Jeep will heavily rely on this particular model to rake in volumes. It is also scheduled for a launch in Fall, but may get delayed if quality does not meet the standards. The CEO of Jeep confirmed that the Jeep Wagoneer S will be Jeep’s very first mass produced electric vehicle. As a mid-size EV, the Wagoneer EV will be reaching dealerships in fall.

The CEO pointed that quality will always be given priority over the time of the launch. Over the years Jeep has finished near the or under the average predicted reliability rates for new vehicles in the US. As per consumer reports from last year, Jeep finished 26th out of 30 brands, and as per the 2024 Vehicle Dependability Study, Jeep was placed amongst other average carmakers. Lexus topped this list and Chrysler was at the very bottom. The Wagoneer S will be built in Mexico, and Jeep mentioned it will be available for federal tax credit and it gets a body slightly larger than the best-selling Tesla Model Y, the top-spec Wagoneer S launch edition will be the first to be made available and come with an asking price of $71,995. Powering the EV is a 100.5 kW-h battery pack and gives it an approximated range in an excess of 300 miles. The top variant comes equipped with a 600-horsepower dual-motor all-wheel drive setup. This translates to a drive setup capable of doing 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds with an impressive top speed of 124 mph.

Inside the cabin, there is an impressive 45-inches for four separate displays. This EV gets ceramic-coated aluminum and a microfibre suede that indicates Jeeps intentions of placing it as an upmarket vehicle. CEO of Jeep made it clear that working on the quality will boost overall sales. The US Jeep market dipped by 19% year over year and almost every model except the Wagoneer and Grand Cherokee saw similar trends.

Sales in the U.S market increased approximately 12% in August with further price cuts and superb marketing. No doubt, the EV market is not all  that promising, but we will have to wait and observe how the Jeep Wagoneer S performs.
