The driving range has always been an anxiety associated with electric vehicles. The latest battery-powered vehicle from Audi, the A6 e-tron has created shockwaves in the EV community with its highly appreciable driving range of over 700 kms. To be precise its claimed driving range of 756 kms takes it into a territory previously conquered only by streamlined concept cars.

This new benchmark is a significant improvement over other electric sedans like the e-Tron GT. This is a major phase in EV development for those who are skeptical about EVs matching their gasoline powered counterparts in terms of range. It is also Audi’s very first purely electric Audi sportback and Avant model.

With its striking design, this car offers the best aerodynamics in the Audi stable. This makes it highly efficient and will be a source of inspiration for electromobility. As a matter of fact the Audi e-tron has a drag coefficient of just 0.21 for the Sportback variant. This makes it the slipperiest Audi since the brand’s inception. This is what makes the Audi A6 e-tron to have a super healthy driving range.

But due credit must also be given to its latest 100 kWh lithium-ion battery. Besides its efficiency the A6 e-tron has a claimed 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. Its even lesser for the sportier S6 Sportback e-tron taking only 3.9 seconds. The Audi A6 e-tron comes with rear-wheel drive and it has a single-rear mounted 270 kW electric motor. Meanwhile, the S6 e-tron gets the trademark quattro all-wheel drive on account of its 370 kW dual motor setup.
