In recent times, electric vehicles (EVs) have played significant roles in the shape of the automobile industry today although along the way some conceptions have been ignored. EV myths have always been the core reason as to why most people fail to embrace the ‘greener’ approach. This blog is aimed at addressing most frequent myths with regards to electric vehicles and above all providing information to clear the doubt.

Myth 1: EV’s are expensive
Proof: Although the stated prices for EV’s may be higher compared to any ICE cars, the total cost of ownership is less. There is little to no friction in an EV because it has almost no moving parts, is serviced less and further Investment is subsidized through the various incentives like tax benefits and cash rebates. Furthermore, there has recently been a Global decrease in EV batteries cost which has made them more affordable to the consumer.

Myth 2: EV’s range is limited
Fact: In the early days of EVs, the cars could not cover such ranges but the present day electric vehicles go beyond 250 miles on full, charge. Some cars even hit the 350 + mile mark which is good for long distance commutes. Furthermore, range is not a concern any longer because there are more and more charging ports with stations every day.

Myth 3: EV takes forever to charge
Fact: The reasons why one might hate fuelling an EV myth is because apart from the slow charging process, it takes forever to move. This is however a thing of changed now, many fast charging stations offer up to 80% charge in less than 30 minutes. Home charging is also effective post other than when most people charge their car and after going to bed, the next morning they will definitely have a charged car battery.

Myth 4: Electric cars are less powerful than petrol cars
Fact: Many electric cars offer impressive acceleration thanks to their electric motors. Moreover, the performance versions of elegantly-styled high end EV manufacturers namely Tesla, and newer designs such as Lucid Motors have shown that EVs can be as fast as, or even faster than their internal combustion engined rivals.

Myth 5: Electric cars do not care for the environment
Fact: Electric Vehicles do not produce emissions directly and when they are used with eco-friendly power sources.
